tyson reed // md / senior designer / web designer

Tyson began his career at a small PR and design agency as an office junior. His role developed from managing the administration of the business to artworking. As the internet revolution began, the company started offering web design, and Tyson jumped at the chance to be trained in this new medium. Having also learnt about the day-today running of a design studio, as well as project management and estimate skills, he left to join Halifax – Bank of Scotland.

Having previously worked exclusively in a business-to-business environment, Tyson’s new role as graphic designer meant exposure to the consumer market. This gave him experience of a wide variety of sectors and clients, including the NSPCC, Vodafone and Arsenal FC, and provided the grounding for the versatility he retains today.

Tyson’s next move was to Oculus Design and Communications where he honed his design and multimedia skills in the business-to-business sector. With numerous successful marketing communications campaigns under his belt, Tyson left Oculus to pursue a freelance career and achieve his ambitions of learning further skills and managing his own clients.

The freelance work grew quickly and within two years, tymedia was created to sustain the rapid growth levels. Despite this change in circumstances, Tyson remains passionate about both graphic design and multimedia production, and still undertakes as much of the work as he can personally. The rest is covered by his dedicated in-house team, backed up by specialist freelancers and suppliers.
